Yllas PhotographyUsing PHP and a MySQL database, we created this web site for Sally Oxley, a photographer in Scotland, with expansion in mind. The gallery pages are all created dynamically, with thumbnails resized on the fly using PHP scripts. The expanding sub-gallery menu is also generated when needed, only displaying the categories of photographs that have images in them. This enhances the visitors experience, by removing the need for 'No Images' messages. The dark colour scheme was chosen to help show off the photographs in there best light. A white background can cause images to appear darker, and therefore harder to see properly. A gallery management area is hidden behind the scenes, allow Sally to update the galleries whenever she has new pictures to add. The front page of this site displays the three latest images added, with captions and links to the full size versions of the pictures.
